LEICESTER RIDERS
The Leicester Riders are my favourite team of the BBL and i think that they are the best. They recently won the 2001 ntl National Cup. Billy Mims and company defeated London Leopards 84-82 to lift the George Williams trophy, with Ralph Blalock being named the game's MVP.The Leicester Riders have some great players like Ralph Blalock, Purnell Perry,Karl Brown,Larry johnson and last but definetly not least Malcolm Leak.They also have a great coach, Billy Mims.On the BBL section of this page i will have alot about the Leicester Riders. |

The Leicester Riders claimed the first silverware in their 34-year history with a dramatic 84-82 victory over the London Leopards in the ntl National Cup Final at Sheffield Arena.
Leopards netted nine in a row to lead 81-78 with just over a minute left, before Larry Johnson tied the game with a three-pointer 1.03 from the end. Ralph Blalock put Riders in front with 31 seconds left, before Rod Brown halved the lead with 25 seconds left, making it 83-82.
Leicester-born guard Karl Brown put Riders 84-82 ahead from the foul line with 13 seconds remaining and the Riders defence held their nerve to stop the Leopards from getting a shot off.
Earlier, it was Leicester who started the brighter, enjoying a 14-0 tear to lead by as many as 13 points in the opening quarter. However, Leopards fought back with a 17-3 second quarter run to set up the pulsating second half.
